If you love to read some love poems for Valentine Day, here is my favorite.
It’s by Anne Bradstreet.

If two were ever one, then surely we.
If ever man was loved by wife, then thee;If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare me with ye women if you can.I prize thy love more than whole Miles of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee, give recompence.Thy love is such I can no way repay,
The heavens reward thee manifold I pray. Then while we live, in love
lets so persevere,That when we live no more,
we may live ever.
Anna Bradstreet (1616-1672) was the first great American poet (and the first American woman poet). She has been reported that she was happily married. She was a mother of eight children!! Anne Bradstreet wrote most movingly on domestic themes.
