DO SOME GOOD FOR MOTHER EARTH

I am inviting you all to join our monthly world healing initiative, and so give EARTH A HAND!.

By doing monthly world healing, you will make a major significant impact, directly & indirectly.

So what happens when you meditate once a month for 1 hour on world healing? What do you think will happen?*

Will YOU change? You bet ya! You will refuse that plastic bag in the supermarket (‘NO THANK YOU’), and FINALLY get around to put 12 empty grocery bags in the bag of your car, and even a tiny bag in your regular handbag, for when you might need one. You will read the labels in the supermarket and keep empty jar containers for when you happen to pass by that perhaps far-away ‘refill store’ to get biodegradable soap of all kinds.

You’ll speak up with kind and wise words to those around you just carelessly trash the planet, or who are violent to others. You will change the air around transforming the room & everyone’s mood after an argument took place.

You will participate in Earthday kind of local clean-ups, even when it rains. And as a subsequent you will feel like that park or beach you cleaned up has somehow become yours, so that next time you see it full of garbage again, you can’t resist the urge to pick it all up again so that it’s all cleaned up again, just a few minutes later.

You will think twice (and probably not buy it) when buying fruit and vegetables when they are packaged in non-recyclable materials. And tell the manager why you are not buying the bananas you need to make your banana bread, so that he gets it clear in his head that packaging fruit is not a good idea, after all.

You will travel less by plane and take a more soulful and more local vacation that will have a much smaller footprint on the planet.

You will donate money to the poor and simply help the sick and needy. You will perform random acts of kindness to strangers. You will reach out to those in need, in whatever way unimaginable. Funny how people around you need healing and help in ways that are ‘inconvenient’ to you. But you will just give them what they need.

And next time you are aware that politicians are about to make a decision that would harm nature, you will write them that letter to make them feel comfortable in making green choices for the world at large.

And you may not even be consciously aware of this, but because you are doing all this, you have become a role model to others, to become just like you. And as such, you’ve become a link in the chain that can tilt the world, for good.

Even if you’d do just one of these things as a result of monthly meditation on healed planet, you are on the way to the divine land of hope and transformation towards love.

World Healing Spreads Love …

May love surround you, and may you be filled with blessings and love.

 

Yesterday we held our world healing group meditation/distant healing session again and I personally had an amazing experience.  As I just received a letter from a new participant, who like me, is curious what the experiences of others was like, I thought to share my own today her on the blog.  If you also want to share, please feel free to do so by leaving a comment below.

 

 

World Healing February 13, my view of World Healing

 

No matter if I’m driving, no matter what time the clocks say (once a clock was an hour off due to daylight saving), I almost always know the exact time to start. As if an inner alarm goes of.

Instantly prompted, I did my usual calling in all angels, archangels, ascended masters, God, aligned loved ones and spiritual masters to come help us mortals bring light to the all of the planet.

 

When they are arriving, I ground myself and the group members and as if a circle of friends holding hands, I send distance healing to everyone. I see the light glowing up out of all of us and creating a synergistic beam of loving rays of healing for all living things: nature, mother earth and humanity.

 

 

At first I visualized for a while what that healed world would look like: friendship (where there was anger and spite), love, harmonious relationships between all people, self-actualization, sufficient resources for worthwhile endeavor that are on the agenda of the divine rather than ego-driven, health (where there was pain and illness), and just lots of joys and rays of light beaming onto our planet, nurturing every plant and animal and person, young or old.

 

 

After 15 minutes or so, I reflected that this in fact was ‘my own’ agenda. And that perhaps, a more fundamental agenda would be to merely let the Reiki /healing energy / pure thought flow to the merit of humanity. 

The Divine only knows what the best result would be, not me. If that would include the fact that we would still need hospitals because there were still people sick as part of their individual learning process, that I should not want to tamper with that by wishing hospitals/illness something of the past.   And so, I focused purely on giving unconditional love/Reiki healing for the remainder of the time.

 

Many other world healing initiatives go from ‘ heal this sick person’ heal that sick man’, please send healing to my mom,  my dog, my horse, my …. me. While I always in my mind silently embrace all the ‘stories’ and individual requests into the healing of the overall, I add the wish ‘only if it is for the highest good of all’.  

 

To me, world healing should focus on ONENESS, not on separation between individuals.

 

However, it is only HUMAN to sometimes want personal and individual attention.   And so, I do embrace both the requests by others and the issues I see in my world that I am aware of.  Then, I rise above the details and the stories of my wishes to a more pure thought form of oneness.

 

At the end of the world healing, I close up, wishing everyone a great month ahead.

Green World Healing

I don’t do this very often, (is this the first time??) but today I’m deciding on a ‘diary page’ of last Sunday … Just for the heck of it…

 

 

 

 

Ahhh, the morning started really good. When I woke up, it was pouring rain, but it was also sunny. And we know, that means a rainbow day… And so it was. A wonderful day, with a great yin/yang balance.

 

Yin:  passive

Yang: active.

 

 

 

As today would be a full moon day, I knew that therefore our actions of the day would be rippling on into the universe  AT FULL FORCE.  And so I felt kind of lucky that I had good-karma building activities planned throughout the day: my morning volunteering to clean up our village would be followed by my beloved evening event:  ‘We Are One World Healing’ distant Reiki session / meditation session on ‘a healed world’.

 

MY YANG MORNING

Cleaning My Local Community

I met some lovely new friends when, as part of a team of volunteers, we cleaned up our adorable tiny village of Monterosi. It’s just North of Rome, Italy. 

We spent a whole morning, fruitfully on the endeavor, bringing out the beauty of our world, raising the energy of three public places: the local elementary school yard, the playground park on the village edge, and a little-known downtown (tiny) parking lot behind Piazza Umberto, off Via Marconi.

 

 

Clean-Up Satisfaction based on Trash / m2 Found

If you are going to tidy up your house, don’t you just love cleaning up the messiest room ?!!  Same sentiments for cleaning local garbage. When there is more junk to remove, you’ll get a greater satisfaction.

The Ratings

#1  The parking lot WON, by far, when measured in trash/m2.  

Very satisfying.

 

We collected a full XL garbage bag worth of abandoned ‘whatever’: bottles, glass, towels, questionable bags with??, broken toys, cloths pins, paper, boxes & other cardboard, lots of paper bits and bottle cap.

I am not mentioning those hard-to-collect cigarette buds. I think they must be a gift from the divine, because they sure represent lots of lessons to us all.

  #2    The second place went the school yard. It’s trash/m2 ratio was way lower as it’s a large area, however there were dozens of empty cans and bottles under the bushes, the bushes had dead branches, and plants needed to be trimmed back badly. An excessive amount of leaves made the area around the swings slippery and dangerous. 

I think there must have been 10 bags of garbage and waste collected, if not more. Plus all the branches.

 

A team of 3 spent a full 4 hours here, and boy did they raise the energy level of this place. The vibrational shift was amazing! This is what is so great about space clearing in general:  the world loves you back, right away, for every little care you take.

#3   The third place  for trash/m2 ratio went to the public playground. It was the largest area. When we arrived it appeared ‘kind of clean’. That was, until we started walking it over the grounds, …. and found 2 1/2 XL garbage bags full of trash. Want to see them?

That was my super active morning.  Then, I had a fun-filled family afternoon, and then a oh so wonderful meditative evening…

 

 

 

MY YIN EVENING

Healing the World at large

 

Often, I’m asked how I do the world healing meditation. As I mentioned in the ‘About We Are One World Healing’- page, I send distant Reiki to each and every participant and I intend for our collective healing energy to merge and synergize, and then intend that to be applied for the benefit of all people, all nature and mother Earth.   Simple as that.  I intend that to be ongoing for the hour, and then I allow my mind to receive imagery of aspects of the healing. Ahh, I just love visualizing a healed world.

Today, a proper trash management trash came to mind: I saw a sustainable world whereby trash was 100% reused, directly and indirectly. Of course, given my quite exhausting morning activities, I just had to dedicate a few moments to visualize a trash-free world. 

Then, imagery of clean water appeared. Haiti and Africa came to mind and were supplied with healthful water. Oh so happy people were eating food.

It was a world without hospitals as everyone was healthy and would only die of old age, happily.

 

And then, what’s more, it’s a world of balance: where the poor would not feed the poor, but the rich do this. E.g. Instead of buying chewing gum that would be nearly impossible to remove from public places, and that’s bad for your stomach and your teeth, western world teenagers would save gum money and ‘adopt’ a foster child in a faraway place. Ditto: I saw investors foregoing short-term gain and go for fair-trade company stock seeking equity in environmentally and socially sound organizations around the world.

We lived in a world of democracy and everyone was free.

And last but not least, I saw a happy family, my own. And that’s when I ‘woke up’ out of my meditation session, …. and dinner was ready.

 

OK. Enough about me, my activities, and my vision of a healed world. Everyone’s view and experiences is different and we have a kaleidoscope of options of goodness to realize, together.

I love Myself as I love Others ~ World Healing Core Affirmation

 

‘I love myself as I love others’ is in my mind, and in my heart, the most central affirmation you can recite to promote world healing. Let me give a very quick answer, focusing on 4 aspects of this affirmation.

 

Aspect 1 of this affirmation: SELF LOVE

When you can actually love yourself, you are more than halfway there.

 

Effective method: stand in front of the mirror and recite the phrase: “ Hi cutie/handsome, I love you. I really love you, and adore everything about you.”   Many times.

 

At first, your ego may / will protest with all your long-help mis-beliefs / obstacles to this expression of self-love. Say ‘thanks for sharing” to all those negative thoughts. Then, let these thoughts go.

 

Eventually, you will see yourself in the mirror, and the words will feel and sound really true: you love yourself.

IN THIS STATE OF SELF-LOVE, you will radiate love onto others.  When feeling safe (which comes from self-love), you are in the best position to stretch out your helping hand, and to really give. 

 

This really mean you will give more than you otherwise would.  By giving more, you are usually building a better heart. You will usually also receive more love. And so it becomes a reciprocal process of exchanging more and more expressions of love.

 

 

Aspect 2 of this affirmation: ONENESS

By loving another as you love yourself, you are not differentiating between people. By starting to live this way, you would not kill a fly, because you are that fly. You would not hurt another person with your words, because you are that person. You’d treat all people equal, and ahhh…. instantly lots of previous problems in the world are resolved. Can you see where this is leading to? Don’t you just love it?!

 

By adding ‘Random Acts of Kindness’ to the concept of Oneness,

you are truly sprinkling goodness IN YOUR WORLD & THE WORLD AT LARGE.

 

 

Aspect 3 of this affirmation:  HEALING ALL

By loving others, you have to extend your awareness of others. You have to both see others, and learn about the needs of others.  This way, you can give what is in fact needed, where needed, when needed.  

 

Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is ignorance. Communion is Bliss.

 

Too often we live in our own cocoon of wellness.  Often, we simply are not aware of the suffering of others.  Oh yes, me too.

The solutions are simple: Listen, observe and learn.  This is a process taking a life-time.

 

 

While you listen,

you don’t talk.

When not talking

Your mouth can smile.

How good is that?!

 

 

Aspect 4: ALLOWING THE INNER-SELF TO SHINE

By letting go of the ‘ego’ (that bit of conscious thinking that has those frequent limiting thoughts….), and opening up the stage of the sub-conscious which is finally talked to through the repeated ‘mantra’ in the  most loving ways, you are allowing this inner-you to shine through.

 

 

I would like to end this article and say:

Silent Love Bombs

Sometimes there are just tiny little triggers that make you take a certain action, that you just KNOW is what is called for in the world that day.

Today, I came across an old comment from Anna, a World Healing participant, who was looking for a beloved poem that I posted 2 years ago.*

While the poem was called ‘The New Religion of the 21st Century’ , Anna called it ‘Silent Love Bombs’, a title I like so much better!!!

Let’s Help Tibet This Time

I am deeply saddened by the devastating tragedy caused by several severe earthquakes that struck on April 14 in Kham, Eastern Tibet. The region of Kyigudo (Chinese:  Yushu), which is located in Qinghai Province of the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, has suffered significant losses, with more than 2000 confirmed dead 1), and many thousands more injured, tremendous loss of property, and exceptionally difficult conditions in which to help those suffering in the aftermath of the disaster. 

For those who wish to donate toward earthquake relief efforts, below is a partial list of organizations 2) that are fundraising for earthquake relief in the region.  It is just a partial list (please forgive any oversights or omissions of other worthy organizations also working to benefit those in the region).

Last week’s earthquake in Jyekundo (Chinese: Yushu), a predominantly Tibetan area, has devastated the region. Local citizens need your help. The official death toll at the time of writing this email stood at 2,039, but unofficial reports indicate the toll may be as high as 15,000. Another 12,000 are injured.

The CTC has pledged funds towards immediate relief for the victims of the earthquake. Our donation will be channeled through Machik, an organization that is already on the ground providing relief. Machik is also able to issue Canadian tax receipts.

Letter from Tibetans to President Hu and Premier Wen, requesting a visit by the Dalai Lama
16 April 2010

Dear President Hu and Premier Wen,
Wish you both good health. During the initial hours of the natural disaster, we appreciate your government’s immediate relief efforts through soldiers and all round support from different sections of the society and we, the victims of this calamity, thank you for the same.

But we are a deeply religious community having a strong faith in the teachings of Buddha. Since many generations, we have a deep faith in His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Today, as we are suffering from a great physical and mental anguish, we really need His Holiness to visit the quake affected area to pray for the departed souls and to provide solace to the broken hearts. Today, we request you, president Hu and premier Wen, to find the compassion in your hearts and fulfill this desire of us quake victims. We, the quake victims numbering more than 10,000, implore you from our hearts to temporarily set aside your government’s political differences with the Dalai Lama and kindly consider our request.

With this invitation to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, we have no other objective apart from fulfilling our religious aspirations of praying for the departed souls and the survivors of the disaster.

In this hour of distress, His Holiness’ visit to offer prayers and condolences in person is the only way to heal our wounded hearts.

There is no other better way.

 

Statement of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
His Holiness the Dalai Lama Eager to Visit Earthquake Affected Area

As I mentioned briefly soon after I heard the news, I was deeply saddened by the effects of the devastating earthquake in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (Tibetan:Kyigudo) of Qinghai Province which resulted in the tragic loss of many lives, a great number of injured and severe loss of property. Because of the physical distance between us, at present I am unable to comfort those directly affected, but I would like them to know I am praying for them.

I commend the monastic community, young people and many other individuals from nearby areas for their good neighbourly support and assistance to the families of those who have lost everything. May your exemplary compassion continue to grow. This kind of voluntary work in the service of others really puts the bodhisattva aspiration into practice.
I also applaud the Chinese authorities for visiting the affected areas, especially Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, who has not only personally offered comfort to the affected communities, but has also overseen the relief work. I am very appreciative too that the media have been free to report on the tragedy and its aftermath.

In 2008, when a similar earthquake struck Sichuan, Chinese central and local government leaders and auxiliary authorities took great pains to provide relief, allow free access to the media, as well as clearing the way for international relief agencies to provide assistance as required. I applauded these positive moves then and appeal for such ease of access on this occasion too.

The Tibetan community in exile would like to offer whatever support and assistance it can towards the relief work. We hope to be able to do this through the proper and appropriate channels as soon as possible.
When Sichuan was rocked by an earthquake two years ago, I wished to visit the affected areas to pray and comfort the people there, but I was unable to do so. However, when Taiwan was struck by a typhoon last year, I was able to visit the affected families and pray with them for those who had perished in that disaster. In providing some solace to the people concerned, I was happy to be able to do something useful.

This time the location of the earthquake, Kyigudo (Chinese: Yushu), lies in Qinghai Province, which happens to be where both the late Panchen Lama and I were born. To fulfill the wishes of many of the people there, I am eager to go there myself to offer them comfort.

In conclusion, I appeal to governments, international aid organizations and other agencies to extend whatever assistance they can to enable the families of those devastated by this tragedy to rebuild their lives. At the same time, I also call on the survivors of this catastrophe to recognize what has happened as the workings of karma and to transform this adversity into something positive, keeping their hopes up and meeting setbacks with courage as they struggle to restore what they have lost. Once again, I pray for those who have lost their lives as well as for the well being of those who have survived.

Healing the World – Invitation

Today I have two World Healing announcements:

1. WORLD HEALING MEDITATION/REIKI GROUP ~ We Are One World Healing

This Sunday, November 1, we will hold our monthly session whereby we unite in space to create a synergistic energy beam to help heal humanity, all nature and planet earth.

We have become a strong group of several ’00s Reiki masters, Reiki practitioners and others generous souls holding a vision for good. Partial participants list.

I hereby invite you to join us, as we certainly need to grow and strengthen our beam. Participating is a blissful experience and you can find many write ups of experiences by participants on the blog here. As well, our participants from Africa and England are sending us hopeful words from time to time. Usually, after the world healing meditation/reiki session, I personally feel rewarded and very peaceful.

Zimbabwe Turns a New Leaf

I know that in North America we are all very aware of America’s new presidential shift. Obama has ‘hope’ written on his forehead. However, the US is not the only country where the political climate is changing so that the population is now hopeful again.

Today, I received an email from an South African ‘We Are One World Healing’ participant, who alerted me to what is happening in her part of the world. She wrote:

“Today is a celebration day for me!

There is history being made in Zimbabwe!!!! Yeehaa! I am so grateful for the progress my heart can’t decide whether it wants to laugh or cry! I actually am so moved I end up with my head bowed in namasté.

YOU have something to do with that Astrid!!!!! I know the healing we have done with our meditations has made a difference! Well done.”

Where she wrote ‘YOU’, I feel that she spoke to ALL participants of We Are One World Healing instead, not just me, so take it as a compliment and a sentiment of gratitude. Not I, but WE are ‘We Are One World Healing’.

To be able to share into her excitement, I checked what BBC has to say about the developments in Zimbabwe, and found this:

“Zimbabwe’s new Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, has vowed to stabilise the country’s shattered economy and end political violence.

The former opposition leader addressed thousands of cheering supporters after being sworn-in under a power-sharing deal with President Robert Mugabe.

Zimbabwe faces rampant inflation, a cholera epidemic and 90% unemployment. The international community has promised additional aid to the country only if real changes take place.

Addressing a rally at a stadium in Harare, Mr Tsvangirai said the government had to “get the country working again”. “The first priority is to stabilise the economy,” he said. “The economic collapse has forced millions of our most able to flee the country.
