Monday Morning 9 ‘O Clock. So, there you are again. On your day job. Are you loving it? Do. Is it where you are meant to be? I hope so. Or,… are you hating your work? Is it boring and is your heart somewhere else?
Instead, is there a latent talent you wish to use, .. some day ?Is there something else that you’d rather do, but you doubt whether you could make any money with it, or even: whether you would be ‘good enough’ for it?
Today, I want to encourage you to consider letting the world know what you actually DO want to contribute, instead of what you were planning to do at work today.
To help you along a bit, consider this video of a car phone warehouse sales rep. It shows the power of ‘one day letting the world know what your dream is’, of one day, sharing that special trick, talent or ability that is yours alone.
In this video, Paul Pott shares his heart’s desire to be the best he could be. He demonstrates to the world what he loves to do: sing. The unique ‘diamond’-talent he held inside shines bright when he does.
But Paul was not exactly confident. He certainly did not look the part…. Imagine that Paul would not have shared his dream…?!
As observers, it’s so easy to see that he is so destined for success, that all he needs are minor things..: a little nicer suit, a tat of training, a bit of dental work, … plus a good suitcase, because he’s going to travel the world singing opera everywhere. He’ll be world famous in no time, without a doubt?! It’s so obvious to us, but… it wasn’t to him.
Only months later, he sings for the Queen of England. Millions of albums already sold. I doubt he’s doing much mobile phone business these days…
