World Healing Meditation: Moving Beyond The Occult

This ‘WE ARE ONE WORLD HEALING’-session (#6) I had someone working with me, as in a joint meditation group. Afterwards, the fellow explained to me, that to him, meditation, i.e. going that special place in the mind, was like the occult. And that where he was aiming to go beyond the occult.
I quized him what he meant with that, expecting a whole story on black magic and perhaps a wiccan past. Instead, he explained that in sailing terms, a beacon has an occulting light, that appears to be on again, off again. In actuality, a beacon is always on, however, it shines its light in different directions, sometimes not directly on you.
Furthermore, he said, last night, we had a full lunar eclipse. It lasted over 3 hours, and at the peak of things turned into a bright red ball, aroudn 3.30 am Vancouver-time. Quite magical. At this stage, Earth was occulting the Moon (i.e. temporarily blocking the light of the sun).
“So” he said, “while still a meditation ’student’, being in that special place, was not yet a steady, constant. Rather a place that he could be in at times, and then it would turn off again. Then he would find it again, etc. ” The ’special place’ or ‘pure light’ was always there. It’s just that we could not see it when our view was obstructed or our mind was clouded.
Now, I thought, that was some food-for-thought for us all.
